The Gas That Keeps Your Head Clear

Blaise Akwuaka

Why a foggy afternoon and a softer morning can trace back to one system, and what keeps it open.

You think a softer morning is a testosterone problem.

Sometimes it is. Most of the time it is not.

Most of the time it is flow. And the same flow runs to the organ you think with.

Let me walk you through it, because once you see this you cannot unsee it.

Every artery you have is lined on the inside with a single layer of living cells. That layer is not passive.

It makes a gas.

America’s answer to universal basic income

Saudi Arabia figured it out.

They pay their citizens $3,600 a month per family. Just for existing. Funded entirely by oil.

Meanwhile, politicians in America are arguing about Twitter, while you get nothing from the $300 billion we generate from oil and gas every year.

But there is a way to collect.

It's called the Patriot Income Plan, or P.I.P. for short.

It's not a government program. It's not a stimulus check. It's not tied to an election or a budget vote.

It's direct ownership in 14 entities that control America's energy infrastructure — pipelines, terminals, processing plants — and pay 10% a year to everyone who holds units.

Put in $10,000 = get $1,000 back.
Put in $50,000 = get $5,000 back.
Put in $100,000 = get $10,000 back.

42 payouts a year. Deposited automatically.

This is universal basic income for people who don't want to wait around for the government to figure it out.

P.I.P. is on pace to pay out $53 billion this year — a record. The next distribution drops in days.

Here's how to enroll

The gas is nitric oxide. When the lining releases it, the artery relaxes, opens wider, and more blood moves through.

This is not fringe science. Three researchers won the Nobel Prize in 1998 for proving your body uses a gas to control its own blood flow.

Term of the Day

Nitric Oxide

The molecule your artery lining makes to open the vessel and let blood through. Less of it means tighter pipes and less delivery.

This part is personal. That lining makes less nitric oxide as the years add up.

High blood sugar wears it down. So does high blood pressure.

And a chair you never get out of does the same.

So the pipe that ran wide open at thirty runs a little narrower at fifty-two. Same heart pushing, less road to push through.

Line up two things you never put together.

The smallest arteries in your body feed the erection. The hungriest customer for steady blood flow is your brain.

When nitric oxide drops and vessels tighten, the small stuff feels it first. That is why a change in the bedroom often shows up years before a heart problem does.

Cardiologists treat it as an early warning. Research suggests the bedroom sign can appear three to five years before a heart event.

Read that as a gift, not an insult. Your body is flashing a check-engine light on the cheapest gauge you own.

And the same tightening that dims the bedroom is quietly trimming the flow to your head. A brain running on a little less blood fades faster at 2pm.

Not weak. Not old.

Under-supplied.

So what opens the lining back up?

Movement, more than anything. When blood rushes past that lining faster, the flow itself tells the cells to make more nitric oxide, which is why a hard walk clears your head in a way sitting never will.

Food matters too. Leafy greens and beets carry nitrates your body turns into nitric oxide, and that is chemistry, not a wellness slogan.

The honest part is this. A fifty-two-year-old lining does not always keep up with demand on salad alone, and that is the link in the chain where a quality nitrate or L-citrulline supplement earns a look.

Food starts it. The machinery sometimes needs the backup.

One caution, and it matters. If the change downstairs is new or getting worse, do not self-treat it and do not ride it out.

Get your blood pressure and blood sugar checked, and say the real reason out loud to your doctor. That conversation is the entire point of the warning light.

One Thing

Put a real serving of dark leafy greens or beets on your plate today. A serving, not a garnish.

It comes down to this. The flow that keeps you sharp in the room is the same flow that keeps you a man at home.

One system, feeding both.

Keep it open, and you stay the guy they lean on. In the meeting, and everywhere else.
